Northwestern goes to Texas and gets the commit from Brown over Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M. Looks like the Hawks were a little late to the party. Kudos to the Wildcats on this one!

For some strange reason Northwestern has a lot of decommits time will tell if they can hang onto him.

Is Iowa even going after more DEs? They already have two committed and had a lot of them in the 2016 class.

I don't know anything about this individual, but if it is the rare case of realizing the NFL is probably not going to happen and he'll need a degree to move on in life, I applaud this decision.

This is where I'm at just about every time Northwestern gets a good looking recruit. Hard to argue with a young man who decides that putting himself in position to succeed in life is more important than putting himself in position to succeed in sports.

I admittedly make a lot of assumptions about their thought process in these cases.

Are you saying that his chances are much less at Northwestern to get to the NFL?

I think he is saying if he happens to get injured or isn't cut out for the NFL, a degree from jNW will be much more valuable than the piece of paper he will get from OU.

That's how I took it but I think the guy is looking for a good ole fashioned Internet argument.

Hey now! There are thousands of great people with that piece of paper from OU that are looking for work after being laid off in the oil fields!

In all seriousness, great get for NW. Good for the Big Ten to get some of these types out of Texas and the south. I don't know that it makes NW a world beater but very nice for them and an overall good thing imo, which is admittedly worthless.
