A multiyear Roadmap Action Plan between Germany and Lithuania was agreed in December 2023.

It’s certainly close. We are in the pre ww3 stages that’s for sure. I don't think it’s avoidable anymore. History says we are due.

IMO the U.S. would be more likely to simply not engage in any conflict involving Russia. So basically Europe and Canada vs Russia.

Iran-US-Israel war would certainly have effect on the U.S.-Russia proxy war in Ukraine.
Idea is that the Chinese see a window to act on Taiwan and now the U.S. is fighting a war from at least three continents (four if you want to count CONUS, which is more credibly threatened in a peer conflict with a China or Russia).

China-Russia relationship is much closer than the Germany-Japan relationship of WW2. Their most common denominator was splitting US attention.
