Here's this weeks rankings.

At what point do people think wrestlers need to be excluded from the rankings when they haven't wrestled yet?

Jan 1 seems fair.

That's a great question. I would say 2 months after their teams' first dual? That would give the Jan guys a chance to show but a short one which seems reasonable.

I know it is just rankings and there is a formula for it. But, I dont know how Desanto is above RBY, Eiermann above Lee, Otoole under Bull but dual comparison has Otoole beating Bull. How is Murin lower ranked than Parker and he just beat him head to head? I like this site to do dual comparisons and see matchups but cant for the life of me figure out the way they rank wrestlers.

Its a computer algorithm, obviously not perfect. Eierman is 2-1 vs Lee, with his loss coming in Sudden Victory, but one of his wins is a MD. I'm not sure if they weight recent matches more or not, but I suspect that MD is greatly helping keep him there.

Bull simply has a munch longer history and more impressive wins on his resume than Keegan (1 regular season loss since his redshirt year [- and that guy won 2 NCAA titles], which means he has no bad losses to drag down his metric). Keegans best wins are against #6, #8, #10. Marinelli has multiple wins over guys ranked 1-4 including the guy currently ranked #2 by wrestlestat (Wick). I am confused why their matchup predictor varies from their rankings though - guess its a different algorithm.

Its a great reference site. i use it all the time just to check upcoming matchups. They run the stats so guessing the rankings are over the collegiate career and that may be the reason I cant get it cause Im looking at wrestlers in real time. But then if it is career matchups, I dont know how Bull goes #1.
