WTT Session I

So while we're waiting for Ramos, let me tell you a story about how dumb I was. A unit my shop supports went to Volk Field Wisconsin a week ago. Volk Field was my first first TDY some twenty years ago and it is out in the middle of nowhere with very little to do. Anyways, they had the toughest time finding people to support it in my shop. I turned it down multiple times. They finally found two people to fill it. As I'm sitting down watching the wrestling today, I realize the colossal f-up I made by not going to Volk...Its about 90 miles from Madison. :(

Ramos with a very solid match 6-0. He dictated the pace and was able to be more physical than Colon. Great start!

Thanks.

Dang -- just noticed that Graff tech-falled McD 10-0. Hadn't seen that. Bummer. Went from 1 point away from a TF win to put him in the finals against Escobedo, where I would have loved his chances, to a TF loss and out of the tournament. Bummed out for Matt.

Rey beat Dlagnev to tie it 1-1. I hate to be the guy that roots against Rey, but Dlagnev is just so much better against competition.

Match a lot tighter...Tony just would not let Joe have his underhooks and was cool as the other side of the pillow. I really like Joe as a wrestler...fun to watch. Close at the end...Tony shot in and Joe tried to chest strap him to exposure, it was close but Tony would have won anyways because Joe had a caution. After Joe got a push out, Tony had him in a single leg, up and ran him all the way off the mat into the USA wrestling banner...time had run out in the first period. No love lost there. In Ramos's interview, short little talky guy asked Ramos about the he and Joe's rivalry: He said its good for wrestling. He realizes that people think he's cocky and were rooting for him to lose but he's beat everybody they have in America and if they don't want to root for him in Vegas, he doesn't care.

The message board haters are going to have a field day what happened at the end of the 1st period. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of what Tony did, but all of these clowns that will bash him are people that hated him before he threw Colon down out of bounds. Like the Brands brothers, Ramos has to wrestle on the edge to get the most out of himself and that's what he's doing.
