I hate stuff like this. He's only just a man with a history of assault and treating with weapons. The cop should've really got to know him and find out what's hurting him mentally. Then gave him a big-o-hug and tell him it'll be alright.

I have no issue with this at all if body cams later prove the guy assaulted him. However, if cams are eventually released and it shows otherwise then he should be charged with assault and reprimanded or even fired.

If the suspect indeed charged at, punched and kicked the officer first, I see no problem here.

Agree, I should have added that caveat - should be pretty clear evidence one way or another on the full body cam footage. If unprovoked, cop should be fired
