Of all the barbecue joints in all of Iowa, Yahoo! Travel picked Iowa City's Jimmy Jack's Rib Shack as the best BBQ joint in Iowa.
According to "50 States: the Best BBQ Across America," a Sept. 1 Yahoo! Travel article by Melinda Crow, Jimmy Jack's was named king of all Iowa restaurants that pride themselves in serving up barbecue.
Crow cited the pulled pork and the honey butter cornbread as the winning combination for Jimmy Jack's, saying that the taste "can transport you to the Deep South with one bite."

Jimmy Jack’s knows its barbecue
Jimmy Jack's has been serving up delicious barbecue since owners Jimmy Adrian and Jack Piper opened the restaurant at 1940 Lower Muscatine Road in 2005.
Crow said that a good barbecue restaurant should have "at least one starchy side dish worthy of pairing with the meat," and "there must be beans."
