#1 question for 2015:
- What positive impact will Greg Davis learn from Iowa's loss at Maryland? Run-Game coordinator ... Iowa was 5-6 in 1989, they rebounded in 1990 in a Big Way ...
- Wisconsin rebounded from 7 win season into one of the success stories in the Big Ten, after a 7-6 in Year 3 under Bret Bielema. They are now welcoming their 3 head coach in four seasons. The time is right, as Iowa comes into Year 4, coming off a similar 7-6 season, as Bret Bielema shared at the SEC Media Day, to knock Wisconsin off the top team list?
- Of course, Nebraska, Minnesota, Northwestern, Illinois and Purdue will have something to say as well.
- Iowa doesn't face Ohio State or Michigan State in the regular season. They do get Maryland and Indiana again.
- Ohio State was 6-7 in 2011 - They are now the defending Champion at 24-0 over the past 3 season in Big Ten regular season games ...
- Michigan State was 7-6 in 2012, even lost to Iowa in Year 1 under GDGD and DC Phil Parker.
- Wisconsin was 8-6 in 2012 in BB's final season. By the way, remember the 7-6 under Bret Bielema in Year 3, as well.
- Nebraska changed coaches, despite 9-10 wins, since 2008. The Huskers were 5-7 in 2007. Not titles, since the late 20th Century.
- Michigan, like Iowa, hasn't won a Big Ten title, since 2004 ,,, with six of ten seasons either 3 to 7 wins. This is with Top 25 talent generally.
- Maryland was 4-8 in 2012 and have bounced back to back to back 7-6 seasons.
- Penn State's best QB in 10 seasons? Is it QB Christian Hackenberg, who is coming off worst season, 7-6 in the past ten years in Happy Valley. His first season was only 7-5. Joe Pa rebounded in the early 21st Century from non-winning seasons.
- Iowa has struggled over the past 10 seasons, especially the past five. They were 4-8 in 2012.
- Minnesota is coming off back to back 8-5 seasons, but has not beat Wisconsin, since 2013. The program had back to back 3-9 seasons in 2010 and 2011, though they had successful onside kicks over Iowa and two victories. This program's last Big Ten title was a co-title in 1967 w/ Indiana, who went to the Rose Bowl. Other than Maryland and Rutgers, Minnesota has had the longest absence in the Rose.
- Indiana was 4-8 last year and has one 7-6 (winning season), in the past 10 seasons.
- Rutgers was 8-5 in their first Big Ten season, after 6-7 the previous season. In 2010, they are 4-8.
- Illinois made a Sugar Bowl in 2001 and a Rose Bowl in 2007 (Iowa was 1-0 vs. Illinois). They finished 6-7 last year, after 2-10 and 4-8. The Big Ten programs above and below certainly have plenty of highs and lows.
- Northwestern has had back to back 5-7 seasons, since winning first bowl game in the modern era and first double digit win season, since 1995. Fry and Ferentz each lost to NW during those 10 win seasons.
- Purdue was 3-9 last year, after 1-11.
