When was the last time Iowa attempted an early on-side kick-off and fake punt in the same game? On Saturday, the Hawkeyes successfully executed both and the offense showed signs of big play life against the lowly Illini. Game ball to Brandon Snyder who turned in an 89 yard pick6 TD just months after major knee surgery. Hawks now have two weeks to sort out the good from the bad. On to the contest results.......
Note: this week's update includes a mid-season tally of hardcore* scores (see below)
This week's winner is Farleyhawk who posted a high score of 8-2 to best the other 33 contestants for Game #6. Impressive effort when you consider than more than half the field scored .500 or below.
Suterman and millah_22 tied for 2nd at 7-3. Illinois was able to successfully run against the Hawkeye defense (200 yards) - a feat which was anticipated by Runner-up millah_22 (TB 157) to the detriment of Suterman (TB 115) under the Tie-Breaker.
We're halfway through the schedule so its time find out who the Y/N season ticket holders are - the hardcore contestants - those posters who have submitted an entry every week. Cumulative Y/N scores are presented below. I might update this stat a couple more times over the 2nd half of the schedule and, of course, after the final game.
