Another great Hawkeye defensive effort squandered away by a bungling and blundering Iowa offense. The Hawks need 3 more wins for bowl eligibility.... looks like a tall climb.

A tie at the top this week between Hawktruck and yours truly nu2u at 8-2. A couple of dropped passes doomed me (TB199) as Hawktruck (TB163) was within horseshoe toss of Spencer Petras' pass total (TB=170) and that earned Hawkruck the Week#6 win. Congrats!

HawkPT wih a Secretariat type lead in the overall contest with MapleLeaf_Hawk, qrtr, and MeetTheFerentzes forming a chase pack as we head into the second half of the schedule. EvilMonkey and the rest of the field might have to go to the whip early.....

Iowa, (3-2, 1-1) vs. Illinois (4-1, 1-1)
Series: Illinois leads 38-37-2
Ferentz vs. Illinois: 13-3
Last Meeting: Iowa 33, Ilinois 23 (2021)

Eight consecutive wins for Iowa in this border rivalry. The Ilini have momentum thanks to a lopsided road win at Wisconsin last week, they open as slight favorites. Same old story for the Hawkeyes: will the offense show up this week? With seven B10W teams tied at 1-1, where will Iowa stand after this weekend's B10W shuffle?

With a weigh-in on Monday and now just under two pounds away from my target weight .....which BTW is about 250lbs. less than Bret Bielema.... I'm keeping it clean and (Bud) light on game day. The menu switch-up will surely positively effect the Hawkeye's chances of winning. Let's get it on...........

Go Hawks!

Week #1 Winner: HawkPT*
Week #2 Winner: GeprgePeeples
Week #3 Winner: HawkPT*
Week #4 Winner: qrtr
Week #5 Winner: qrtr
