For me, this has to be the sweetest Hawkeye victory over Iowa State ever ....and there are more than a few to choose from. Suddenly, my ISU in-laws have ceased texting me about the "beat down" the Hawks were going to get in Ames. I wonder just how sad the long trip home was for the gang last Saturday. I'm really looking forward to the family reunion next Summer. Would love to be there when the surprise Hawkeye souvenir gift is unwrapped at Christmas..... a framed scoreboard picture maybe.

SRO crowd in the Y/N lounge this week, a total of 43 entries were submitted. With the ISU freebie I expected overall scores to be elevated -and they were- but I didn't expect two perfect scores. Kudos to hwk23 (10-0) and MeetTheFerentz (10-0) for both completing the fete ...a 10-0 tie is a first for the Y/N contest, I believe.

...but there can only be one winner so Spencer Petras was brought in to break the deadlock (TB=21). Congratulations to hwk23 (TB36) who very narrowly edged out MeetTheFeretz (TB37) to take this week's title... almost unfair to be runner-up with a perfect 10. In accordance with contest rules, both will need to submit a lab test to confirm the absence of performance enhancing drugs.

You never know what kind of game will happen when these two teams meet ..... in just the last 4 match-ups we've had low scoring (16 points, 2018), high scoring (85 points, 2017), a rout (42-3, 2016), and a nail biter (18-17, 2019). Did I mention that Iowa won all of those games? It was 10 years ago that ISU fans watched the Cyclones post a win against Iowa (in 3 OTs) at Jack Trice Stadium. Lets make it anothe decade!
