When I look back upon this game many years from now, I'm pretty sure the first image my memory will produce will be TJ Hockenson running completely free downfield after a perfectly executed play fake, no defender in sight...… unable to catch up to a football thrown 10 feet over his head. "Off target" would be a generous description for the kind of day Nate Stanley had.. Here's hoping he and the team can shake it off - still plenty of season left to make some spectacular memories too. On to the contest results...……

Game 8 champ is qrtr who broke through to post a 9-1 score to take the win outright over the other 42 contestants this week. The travelling trophy shall be his for one week.

jdv77 (8-2) and cheerscoach (8-2) tied for the Runner-up spot. The Tie-Breaker was employed (TB=166) and rewarded cheerscoach (TB160) 2nd place for more closely predicting Iowa's rush total over jdv77 (TB138).

We're down the backstretch now in the overall race and halfway leader Obviously Oblivious is still out front but a larger pack of chasers have crowded in behind him and a big surge by qrtr the last two weeks moves him from middle of the pack into 2nd just ahead of several others as we head for the turn ......

Iowa travels to State College PA this weekend to battle the Nittany Lions while looking to keep their hopes alive in a crowded B10W title race. The Hawkeyes have not won at Penn State since 2010 but meteorologists are forecasting Adrian Clayborn type weather in Happy Valley on Saturday. In honor of HC James Franklin, I will throw a hot dog on the grill for my son to enjoy prior to kick-off this week. Let's get it on...………..
