I'd go with the monsoon game against Tennessee something or another. My pal and I stayed amongst the rowdies chanting Lets Go Hawks! The players showed their appreciation back. The only downfall that game is what happened to McCall. We caught a cab and watched the rest of the game on tv after they booted everyone. That or the windy, freezing day against Michigan a few years ago. Hawks didn't look so good the first half, and I was dumb enough to wear my thin under armor shoes! Painful first half. The second half got us standing though so it's all good.

The Minnesota game in a blizzard was quite a time.My seats were on the east side but because of the wind most people sat in the west side.Very few people there.

November 23, 1991. I was a junior. 28 degrees at kickoff. Danan Hughes made a snow angel in the end zone.

85 vs Michigan just because of the magnitude. 91 Snow Bowl vs Minny for sheer fun. Snow ball fights in the stands plus schnapps and hot chocolate were the order of the day.

Most of the bad weather was before the game, but the heavy rain prior to the Iowa/ISU game in 2008 was what finally led to the current artificial surface being installed in 2009. The pre-game field prep was as memorable to me as the game. They brought in the Iowa Cubs grounds crew to help squeegee and drain the field, but it was still wet and muddy during the game (plus it was raining a bit). I still have a clear memory of watching Andy Brodell return a punt for a TD to clinch the game while throwing up mud clods behind him.

They didn't boot everyone, they just cleared the stands. I was one of the 5K or so that waited it out under the stands in the concourse and then watched it when it resumed. At first I went back to my regular seats and then thought "well this is stupid" and moved to the 50 yard line.

This.

Smallest crowd I ever remember for a game at Kinnick. Probably like 30,000. We got like a foot of snow that Friday night, made it impossible to get into town. A group of us hiked over there. I was just graduated and living over on Governor Street in a house. I remember the Minnesota punter in formation with snowballs landing all around him.

TankHawk, I guess boot everyone was the wrong way to put it, you're right they just didn't want people in the stands because of lightning. We were considering staying the whole game but finally said f this lets go.

I don't think there was anywhere close to 30,000 there that day.Other than the west stands the joint was empty.

If I remember the game correctly it rained until just before kickoff and then again after the game.

The 1985 home game vs. Illinois was played in a cold, dank November mist. We proceeded to hit the Illini with 35 points in the 1st quarter on our way to a 59-0 thumping. Chilled to the bone and loving every minute.
