Don't really understand all the hand wringing going on here,.. The Arizona supreme court simply made a determination regarding the enforceability of this 1864 law that was still on their books,.. If 2024 Arizona no longer wants this law,... Change it.

Well...the legislature did in 2022 and passed a 15-week prohibition. Thus, at a minimum, implicitly overturning the old criminal statute up to the 15 weeks and creating a right to elective abortion up to 15 weeks. But the supreme court found the enacting (controlling) language of the bill (SB 1164) construction provision--which is legislative history, but not actually the final statute--as controlling.

The Arizona supreme court determined that the recent 2022 legislation didn't adequately nullify and overturn the 1864 statute,.. Sloppy legislation creates sloppy results. Arizona can fix this if that is what they want,.. No big deal.

Other redneck states are bound to pass similar, restrictive laws.

And citizens within these states will vote to ensure constitutional protection of abortion rights, prompting federal legislation, flipping off the fascist SCOTUS and ending this bullshit.

70% of the U.S. population of the United States agree with women's choice.

30% are the minority. Screw your arguments.

Face it.

6 months of no big deal. Tell that to pregnant rape victims.

AZ legislature, copying the GQP US House of Representatives when faced with an urgent issue, voted yesterday to take a weeklong vacation

Mika: Women in Arizona now won't have access to some life-saving health care

Didn’t the Dobbs decision refer to the writings of a judge from the 1300’s. Hard to see how a lot of this isn’t a direct aim at women’s rights. Referring to cases and men of hundreds of years ago is a tell.
