SIAP, happened to read this over lunch today (sports section left in the restaurant, cancelled our subscription awhile back, another story). No mention of him lying to the coaching staff about his visits, seems to me that this was relevant to the story. Not sure if the writer was one of the guys assigned to cover the Hawks for football, regardless, would not take Sherlock Holmes-like sleuthing to uncover that element of the story.
