Pretty strong career I'm sure whoever he sells his services to in the future will be lucky to have him.
One of my all time favorites to watch in the black and gold. Not only for his incredible skill on the mat but even more for the attitude and selflessness he showed dealing with all the adversity that came his way. These things will make him an incredible coach. Best of luck Kem Dawg.
I’d love it if Grandpa Mike coached in IC. I’m sure recruits would love him as well.

Glad to see that he will be coaching because I think he could make a pile somewhere on wall street. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing him in IC once again as a coach.

I recall Michael being an extremely strong student, posting academic recognition throughout his undergraduate career. I believe he may have also completed a graduate degree at the University of Iowa, possibly in a business discipline. Michael Kemerer certainly prepared for a successful life post wrestling. Congratulations.
Love Michael Kemerer, also one of my favorite hawks to watch. One of the most epic matches in recent history is When he beat Mark Hall. I would love for him to be coaching in Iowa but 'Unfortunately I think he stays on the east coast.
Yeah, you know Kemdawg was special, because no other fan bases ever made fun or him or criticized him. What a stellar human being he is!!
One of the best matches I ever watched in Carver. The roof shook some that night.
Has to be in consideration for best Hawk to have not won a title. It hurt deeply when he lost to Star in 21.

Well deserved…. One of the best, if not thee best young men to ever come through the program and can’t say enough great things about him. Hope like hell he finds his way back to Iowa City someday.

How can you not love this young man. During his time at Iowa he was my favorite Hawk! Probably in my top 10 all time favorites! Everyone had Spencer as their favorite Kem was always mine. Just wish he would have got 1 he deserved it. Good Luck Kemdawg I am sure you will do Great!!

Kem was a great Hawk. Hate that he never got a title. He will succeed at whatever he does in life, that I'm certain. Injuries kept him from reaching a lot of his wrestling goals unfortunately.
Wishing "Grandpa" the best in whatever he chooses to do. I wish he was coaching here, and not out East, but I'm sure he'll be successful in anything he does. He's a warrior and a class act, something that few can be. That Finals match in '21 was hard to watch. I was crushed for him.
Great wrestler and by all accounts, a great personality. He'll be a success in whatever he chooses to do.
Lee & KemDawg would be a heck of a pair matside for the Hawks.

The old saying goes... " from being a King to being a King maker " and this suits Michael well. Good luck and Keep your nose in the wind and your eyes along the skyline.
My #1 favorite Hawkeye. With his demeanor he can go as far as he wants in coaching.
I was at the Luther open mat side for his first match in an Iowa singlet. He put the straps up and Tom straightened and fixed them for him and Said “ This looks good on you” I couldn’t tell if he was nervous or just in the zone cause his face was stone cold, but after Tom said that a big smile came across his face for a second and then back to stone cold. Loved watching him wrestle.

I remember his first match in Carver because it was also my first dual in Carver (h/t; @hawkeyecrazy ). It was against ISU and he had a big adrenaline dump from being nervous and his face was so red. My wife was like “is his face always this red?”
Anyways, he became one of my wife’s favorite because he does the sign of the cross and my wife is Catholic.
What a great one! Kem was at the top of my list. Good fortune ahead.
Kem always “acted like he has been there” respectfull and got to work. It tore at my gut when he lossed, now thinking back maybe more so then any other Hawk.

I also LOVED the recruiting story that Tom tells of recruiting Kem and the drive to PA in his truck all night just to sit at his table in person to get him to Be a Hawkeye. That is the legendary stuff that creates the atmosphere of trust and determination by the Brands brothers.
There’s not too many guys that can start where he did and grow and still keep his speed and added strength. Such an amazing Hawk, just one of those that his body couldn’t do what he needed. Great person and anyone will be lucky to have him on staff.

That marathon with Starocci, oof. Two warriors battling to the end, both refusing to lose. I bet Star looks back at the match one day as the defining moment of his college career. I’ve never seen him have to dig that deep. Big balls shown by both of those studs.
