KF, "It's complicated."

Soaker, like the Plague and Anthrax, always makes an appearance.

What is hard to believe is that ol' F5n5 hasn't emerged from under his rock yet.

Until they get mobile QBs and change offensive strategy to utilize them, upgrade offensive linemen and coach them up, get some receivers who can get separation and catch the ball there won't be any changes. So yes, it is complicated when you're playing catch up to modrern football
Iowa is very similar in respects to M and AL. The issue is that Iowa hasn't trained QBs and the O line as well. Actually the development has been awful. Talent of course is lower but I'd but Iowas D and special teams play with either program. When it gets down to it, a solidly developed mobile qb would make everything look better. Cade was an attempt but the reports about his health left questions.

The main issue is that KF doesn't like qbs that can make plays but take on risk. The O line is in despair but oft has never been complete under KF. Not so much about modern as just terrible development.

When KF says “it’s complicated” it feels like the underlying message is “we know and you don’t and we don’t really have to explain ourselves to you people that don’t understand”.
Super tone deaf that guy to reality of the situation.

He needs to be the HC now and be hands off on the coordinators, let them do their jobs.

Two things can be true at the same time.

Iowa for the last few years has, for the most part, won most of the close games, and beat the teams it should beat, including the trophy games. And it’s hard to win games in the Big Ten. Big universities with a lot of money, NIL, and access to good coaches. Indiana, Purdue, Nebby, Illinois etc would exchange their records with Iowa.

Iowa, for the last few years, has been worked like a part time job by the top teams, and mostly because we have no offense. And it’s getting worse.
