I think a pre-season tournament LAST season is the correct answer.

Unless you count Drake at Wells Fargo.

Last year against Xavier in that non-conf. tourney. I think that was the one right before the come from ahead loss to Villanova.

I'm curious now just how they viewed that game with Drake since technically it is suppose to be a neutral game. But since it was just miles from their campus I don't know how they don't also treat it as a host game at a larger venue.

I suppose since it is not university-owned that would be why it could be considered neutral.

Iowa's last non-conference loss in 1991 - 1992 was to Duke.
