Maybe if you smoked some weed you'd relax enough to vote properly.I accidentally hit yes. That should be one NO vote!!

Wait, who did you call dumb?
I bet you're a hoot to hang out with. The drug addicts that litter my state and soon yours! I made a mistake on a message board. You and the rest of the addicts make a mistake in life. I can't believe it's already 5-0. It's sad.

Yup, tax it, regulate it and quit arresting people over it. I'm assuming Mr Barnes doesn't drink? He must hate being surrounded by all those drunks out there, let alone the few pot heads.
I bet I am more fun than your friends here that rely on drugs! My brain can work on it's own.

Yes, tax and regulate
No! Why do you think they call it dope!
I'm ready to go back to the pay board on HROT. I forgot about posters like this guy.
Noooo, I've enjoyed the recent revelation that HROT has been free from the bonds of the Porn Bandit. I almost forgot how much I liked this board.I'm ready to go back to the pay board on HROT. I forgot about posters like this guy.
I'm going with 1, I was brainwashed as a child so I imagine there is another out there who hasn't honestly evaluated the world around them.Any guesses on how many of the 9 no votes are under 30?
I say NO!! I live in Colorado and I hate seeing these dumb drug addicts all over my state!
Why shouldn't it be legal? No one can ever answer that one. Why should out jails be littered with peaceful Cheetos eating potheads?
Hey man, give them a little credit.. they decided to bend a little when one of their own had a child who suffered from seizures. Good on you legislatures, only giving a shit when it affects you directly. Thumbs up, chaps! Constituents my ass.Never smoked a day in my life (although a trip to Colorado may be in the works), but it absolutely positively should be legal.
It's borderline criminal that Iowa legislators are refusing to at least acknowledge the benefits of medical marijuana.

I have heard one decent argument. Since there are 20+ states that have legalized it to some degree, the wholesale price of black market weed has dropped up to 50% in many areas which has led the cartels to focus more on heroin. This has made heroin cheaper, more available and more people are dying from it. Anyone who tries heroin has a death wish so I'm not losing too much sleeper over it. Maybe the solution is legalize heroin, but then the cartels focus more on meth. Where do you stop? Complete legalization is working in Portugal.
Worse yet, that law doesn't even help everyone with seizures.
I have a 22-year old brother with severe epilepsy, and due to how the law is structured (or at least the last time I read it, they could have clarified or amended it since then) and where THC can be purchased, there is no way for him to actually get the THC that could help him.
The only people who are against marijuana legalization are those who grew up in the time of reefer madness and are too stupid to learn about the drug for themselves. And they're also probably pounding 6 Busch Lights tonight at the local tavern, while railing against "stoners."
Keep in mind OP,..a collection of many of the more intelligent posters on this site have all said yes.

The funny/sad thing is, it doesn't take much intelligence to understand why it should be legal.
Here's another way to look at it:
Suppose pot was already legal and had been for generations. What arguments could you make to convince people it should be made illegal and that we should be throwing people in jail for having or using small quantities of pot?
If you are having trouble imagining that, try imagining it with something that's now legal. Suppose we decided it would be a good idea to ban coffee and to throw anyone caught owning, selling or drinking coffee in jail. Sell me that argument.
Look at the amount of trouble we (as a society) are having convincing people to scale back on sugar. Imagine if we tried to make sugar illegal, including all sugar-added products. There are probably much better arguments for that than for banning pot, yet that would be a tough sell.
