The PLAY-OFF bound Cleveland Browns won their 11th game of their season tonight. Big games from qb Otto Graham, receiver Gary Collins and running back Marion Motley carried the injury riddled Brownies past the NY Jets.
The Browns are playing with their 4th qb, 4th and 5th OTs and back-up FS and SS on defense. They had 10 starters not play tonight due to injury. That Bill Callahan can coach an o-line!
Speaking of coaches……Tonight I realized that the Joe Philbin/Kirk Ferentz connection goes back back to 1990 when Philbin was KOK’s O/C when KOK was HC at Allegheny College (D-3). That was the year I witnessed Allegheny College roll into Pella one Fall Saturday afternoon and beat Central College in a play-off game. A couple of weeks later, Allegheny won the D-3 championship.
