Interesting that the women did even better than the men for some of these. I’m also a little surprised the Big12 didn’t do better but I don’t remember what other games were on at that same time.

For sure. I don’t doubt that the BigTen chose that time slot by design. The downside of it is that the results of that game then usually have no impact on the tourney seeding unless a team wins that was previously headed to the NIT. From just a logistics standpoint you can’t expect the committee to make changes with that tight of a window.

Yes, the timeslot and being the lead-in makes a difference. The Big Ten is always the lead-in because they draw big ratings and they draw big ratings because they're always the lead-in. Being a good f**king game helps.
