You have seen it before. In 2012, with the season gone and not much chance to get to 6 wins, Kirk just kept sending Vandeberg out there to get mauled and smashed. Kirk had Rudock and maybe another very young qb on the team who could have at least played a few series the last 3-4 games or even the whole game. You tell a guy like Rudock in that situation run the plays but run your ass off and do a Drew Tate type thing if you have to to get first downs.

And the next year Rudock would not have been a total rookie in the opening game against N Illinois.

Yep. I have a feeling that’s where this is headed. “You don’t have to agree with it I’m the head coach”

It’s maddening. It’s almost like they look for ways to burn redshirts of players for a couple snaps a game on special teams - all in the name to get them game experience for future contributions - but then refuse to get the most critical position meaningful snaps to prepare for next year. And then we have to listen to the explanation of inexperience. It doesn’t have to be that way!!

Not comparable IMO, although similarly frustrating.

New OC, Sr QB, Freshman QB. Vandenberg had proven in previous years that he had some talent and could be effective. The offense was a cluster and sending Rudock out there was pointless.

Not a new offense, 2 QB's with experience, the offense is a cluster and neither has proven to be effective to date. But staying with SP seems to be rather pointless - see if someone else can do something.

We WILL see AP on Saturday. Let's all hope he can do something with this opportunity.
