    I have a job working for an insurance company in the technology area. My side hustle is a corn/soybean farmer along with 105 head cow/calf operation. Sell feeder calves each year and feed out the smallest calves, roughly 8-10 head for locker beef that I sell direct to customers.

    First off... gas is not fuel. Diesel is considered "fuel" in this story. No one says gas fuel, they say diesel fuel. Secondly, there is still a huge spread between gas and diesel prices both at the pump and bulk contracting prices. Still paying well over $4 for road fuel and farm fuel.

    Was really gut wrenching to listen to the final 10-42 dispatch call for 5518 Officer Kevin Cram at the funeral today. Incredibly emotional moment for everyone in that school and watching online.

    I went up and stood on the side of the street to watch the procession. 100s of high school and junior high kids along with adults around me. It was completely still and silent as the first car rolled through. It was a very sobering event to attend.

Have a cousin who lives near the area and he confirmed that he heard 7 shots also. Suspect dumped his phone near the river and fled. Was apprehended...

    Yes. Lived in Algona in a house right behind the racetrack. He used to drive a hobby stock racecar. He has a pretty long record of alcohol related charges and speeding. Some domestic stuff in there too. Just a really unfortunate situation. Will leave a scar on the community no doubt.

    I am 12 miles south of Algona. Both daughters go to school there. Know the cop involved and know of the suspect. Sad situation all around.
