    New Tight End Commit

just wondering, does anybody know why Wisconsin did not offer? the dude sure looks the part of the next great TE at Iowa. ona related matter, it seems like whenever Iowa offers a TE or DB recruit, his recruitment suddenly "blows up." It is no secret that Iowa coaches know how to identify...

    REGGIE ROBY

yes, Taylor was a great puner and will probably always be remembered as the 2nd-best punter in Iowa football history. It is kind of hard to be numer 1 when you are competing with God, you know.

Gavin Hoffman. 39.4 inch vertical. 6'5", 220 lbs.

ok, I vote for that idea. I guess it falls into the category of thinking outside the box. not sure it is KF's philosophy, but with a new OC anything is possible, at least in theory.

Gavin Hoffman. 39.4 inch vertical. 6'5", 220 lbs.

as good as he looks, I wold not expect him to see that much action with Ostrenga and Luke Lachey and Ortwerth already making their respective impacts. thoughts, anyone? but he certainly looks the part, no one can deny.

    Where does Brian end up?

I stopped in at McDonald's and there was a dude that looked almost exactly like Brian Ferentz. he was over the grill flipping hamburgers. and no, I did not ask him for his autograph.

    New OC?

sorry, but you would probably have to define the word "autonomy" to Coach Ferentz and then give five examples (preferably examples that are on point;i.e., how to NOT micromanage your coaches.) for him to understand the concept of autonomy.

If Moore is the new Head Coach at Michigan

of course we did not pass on him. We could not pass on him because I am not sure that Iowa knows the football connotation of the word "pass."

Who will be Michigan's next coach?

yes, I would strongly recommend Budmayr. Or, to paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, "Some men are sent out of the country because they are needed out of the country. Other men are sent out of the country to get rid of them." I will have to let you guys figure out if it is the former or the latter...

How is OL shufflee with Proctor?

Interesting response. sounds like Brian Ferentz must still have some influence with the program.

    Proctor is a Hawkeye

Concur. Or, to paraphrase Lyndon B. Johnso, "I'm a lot smarter this morning than I was last night."

How is OL shufflee with Proctor?

can some of you gurus put your starting five o-linemen for 2024? I am especially curious re: center. It w logan jones & Elsbury last year, as I recall. wasn't Elsbury supposed to take over, or is it bck to Jones, or does anybody have a feel?

    Brennan Marion

Kirk Ferentz hiring an OC like this Brennan Marion is the definition of the term "oxymoron." I just do not see it happening. Sorry.

    Nick Jackson coming back!

my my thinking exactly. the operative word above is the word "autonomy."

IF Cooper Dejean Punt Return TD hadn't been stolen, then.....

actually, what might havehappened (it occurred tome over New Year's Weekend) is that we would be 11-2 and probably or possibly gotten a NY6, like the Fiesta Bowl?

    Erick All?

I don't think Kirk works like Nick Saban (i.e., getting rid of dead wood so as to stay within scholarship limit) on a related note, I am worried if All comes back (which I desparately want him back), that Ostrenga would leave via portal. Ostrenga I feel really "looked the part" of an Iowa...

when you say 350,do you mean passing yardage, or his weight?

    Search for the new OC

hell,no he's too old, just for starters. also, his HC record is not that impressive. he took over a "going concern" at Wisky and, frankly, let is slide. that's why they fired him. I have long maintained that guys like Paul Chryst (and others like Pelini, etc) are victims of the Peter...

The Problem with the De Jean Call

thank you, PJ, for your objective analysis of the situation. (and we all noticed how you were jumping up and down from the get-go to get the refs to nullify the TD)

The Problem with the De Jean Call

I am not sure I can disagree with you there, sir. Maybe the Stanford band coming into the field would possibly eclipse the DeJean play for drama and level of bizarrenes, but then that was extraneous inteference by people not on the football team. so I have to say the DeJean "touchdown" was...

The Problem with the De Jean Call

it was meant to be a bit of hyperbole andto show that there is a lot of controversy/interest in the subject. sorry but I did not make that too clear.
