That is an epic collapse.

Gilman regressed on PSU's Megaludis.

Sorenson regressed on PSU'S Retherford.

We went from 2nd to 5th place, and VT and tOSU, (who have former Iowa wrestlers as coaches) superseded us.

Apparently, other former Iowa wrestlers, like Perry and Tom Ryan, know how to coach their finalists to beat PSU'S phenoms, versus regressing.

The Brands need to adapt or move on.

The sky is falling
3 guys in the finals definitely a good thing, and 2 of them are back next year. I hope to see a move forward, but the excitement seems to be with other programs. No champs, first time since 2007. Got some studs coming in next year, hope we can turn things around.

Iowa has six All Americans, three in the finals, and finish 5th. Not a good day on the mat for the Hawks.

All 3 finalists come back, and it was the first time since 2007 Iowa hadn't finished in the top 4.

Yep, brain cramp, sorry. More reason for optimism, yes? Hope Zain moves to another weight though. Gilman and Clark should be right there. What is the answer at 41, 74, 97?
Turk, Meyer, Holloway. That will not get the Hawks to the top of the stand next year. Go Hawks!!!

You know, if Ferentz wasn't canned I don't think there is much chance of a change in the wrestling department either.

PSU had a suck day also. Like what was mentioned before we are 2 studs short of PSU Just think if the G man would have won and he should have PSU would have stunk the building up.

PSU still had two national champions, their guys who lost still had take downs and were very exciting, and G man didn't win. Any day you win another team national title, it's a good day.

listening to Brands...not that he is waving the white flag.... but I think he has realized how far the (hawks) have fallen....big question is...can he close the gap? I am guessing and assuming he cannot and this is where Iowa will be for the immediate future...we will always be tough...but great/elite now resides in PSU and the entire east coast...we cannot continue to roll into seasons with huge holes in the lineup...this upcoming year is no exception...its light on fire power to say the least and their is nobody coming in to help (thinking more along the lines of replacements for Gilman and Clark and since brands doesn't start or hasn't started true freshman...we can expect 2 holes there after next year.

Iowa wrestling seems to be falling and the scary part is we are being passed by a lot of programs.

Unfortunately the situation at 149/157 for a few more years will be tough for us. Whether we put Kemerer or Sorensen at either weight, we are having to deal with either Retherford, Nolf, or IMar

Again, you have no idea what you are talking about. How many champs did we have last year chump?
