As I noted in the original post, Iowa is already contracted to play in the 2022 Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla., on Nov. 25-26, 2022.

Great, I don't read most of your rambling posts. Also, you constantly repeat information people have already posted so you're being hypocritical here.

Finally, my comment was in response to someone hoping we get in a 2 game tournament. Fran has already confirmed we are hosting an MTE this season.

LOL.... You don't read most of my posts yet you respond to every one of them. Talk about a lying hypocrite.

And actually, the comment that you made in your rambling post where you were wrong was that Iowa was going to, and I quote, "then look at traveling again for an event around Thanksgiving starting with the '22-'23 season."

And my response, of course, was simply to correct you. Iowa has already looked into it. Iowa is already contracted to play in the 2022 Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla., on Nov. 25-26, 2022.

Don't be so thin skinned and Obtuse, Triangle.

I don’t care how young the roster is. I want to see the team play tough opponents mixed in with the usual cupcakes. We need to play quality teams to see who is cut to be playing the most minutes when it matters

We are going to play ISU on the road and probably a mid tier ACC team on the road along with a likely game against a Big East team. I wouldn't be shocked if Fran tried scheduling a neutral site game against a Cincinnati type team like he did back in December of 2019. Those plus a minimum of 21 games against B1G teams is enough high major competition for a young team like this.

I’m good with that, and am not asking for more games against the Gonzaga’s of the country. Just want to play teams that will make the Iowa better - even if it means a loss - in addition to those that “build confidence”

21 games against B1G teams? Guess you assuming Iowa loses their first B1G tournament game?

I understand that scheduling is tough....but for developmental purposes it would be great if they could have a schedule that started weak and gradually got tougher leading up to the B10.

Some people may bitch about the schedule but over the last 2 seasons Iowa has not only played overall difficult schedules, they have outperformed the rest of the country.

It will be interesting to see who the Hawks draw in the ACC game. If it is based on last year's performance, it would be against the third place ACC finisher, which was VT. The ACC was a mess last year with the blue bloods definitely underperforming and finishing lower than normal in the conference standings. The matchups in the annual showdown will be intriguing.

Pretty much agree. My preference would be that of the announce games that the cupcakes they have not be so god-awful that you don't really learn much about your team in those games. Players can get away with bad habits and not doing things well against NC Central and similar teams. I would prefer to mix in the "decent-ish" squads (think Kent State, Indiana State, Wofford), where if you play bad you will lose, but you don't have to play above your head to win either.

But can understand not wanting to load up the schedule next year with great teams in the non-conference.

It appears as though Virginia lost a lot...very similar to Iowa, from last year....I think this is a good match up. Not saying we will win, but I think it will be competitive.
