11 straight non pandemic years of at least 7 wins

Some perspective on it; here are how all the B1G teams rank for 7 win seasons since 2013. An asterisk means it can still achieve 7 wins this season, if it hasn't already.

Seasons Team
12 Ohio State
11 Iowa
11 Penn State
10 Oregon
10 * Wisconsin
9 * Michigan
9 * Washington
8 * USC
7 * Michigan State
7 * Minnesota
6 Northwestern
6 UCLA
5 Maryland
3 * Nebraska
3 Purdue
2 Illinois
2 Indiana
2 * Rutgers

That’s a bit harsh, but it does illustrate the frustrations that such a large portion of the fan base has been experiencing….
Helps playing in the big 10 West and having at least two really bad OOC opponents. Seems like ISU is a win most years with the occasional blip like this year.

So you get 2-3 wins before conference play.

It’s really frustrating cause we wasted so many opportunities with no offense.

Sure enough this year the offense (run game) explodes and our defense struggles. Which is to be expected. We can’t keep plugging in developmental players on DL and CB and expect the same magic

The big west argument is such bullshit. Why didn’t those other teams do it? Big west had some of the best defenses in the country. Once again you play who is in front of you and teams from around the country haven’t come close to the consistency of the hawks.

Could we have achieved more? Absolutely. But I wouldn’t trade what we have done for the forever rebuilds of other schools, cough Nebraska.

We haven't beaten a ranked team since 2021. In our last 18 quarters vs. ranked teams we've been beaten 155-7.

I guess congrats to us for winning a lot of close, low-scoring games against crappy opponents?

But it would be nice one of these years to get in vs. a good/ranked team and believe we actually have a chance. Right now, everybody knows it's going to be an L before the opening kickoff.
