149

Major cool points if you can identify the movie that utilized this song in an epic montage.

VV is the clear frontrunner to me.

Rathjen in the doghouse after his 2nd alcohol related arrest this summer.

Cobe could be fun if he can effectively make it.

Agree and he can get to that shot and get his hands locked . He's not good at hiding his ankles and often ends up posting the guy up and looking for an Iranian finish. My opinion is those are small fixes and Iowa guys finish well so I expect the staff to fix it
VV definitely looks like he has the strength to finish in those positions. He definitely doesn't skip ab day.

And tell me where I compared their wrestling accolades?

I’m saying Rathjen is athletic, and that he was a multisport athlete…just like, wait for it, Mason Parris. In my original post I said that it wouldn’t surprise me to see a jump from him and win the 149 spot.

It seems as though I may be higher on him than most of this board. That’s okay.
We often see a weight with two or three athletes of similar talent level trying to win a spot. The problem arrives when we decide that alone means much in the bigger picture. As a matter of fact, those situations are generally a disappointment for those expecting the best of three mid tier athletes to make much noise in March.

Using college results as a measuring stick, Cobe's results are superior to the other two guys. So if he's as effective at 149 as he is at 157, by that measure the spot is his regardless of the above.
I don't disagree with that, Spooner. But if that's the case then my concern is that we are basically accepting the fact that we won't get much in NCAA scoring from 149, based on him being as effective at 149 as he was last year at 157. I'm hoping whoever takes the spot will be challenging for the podium.

Yeah bro we aren’t getting much at 149. The rest of us have already accepted this.

Understood but assuming he does than what ?
He will be on the roster, there are a lot of pessimists on the site.
Most likely he will be the back up at 157 , Franek is extremely good, and I believe he very well could be a national champ this season. some say Ferrari could make it down to 49, He is extremely lean so I don’t know if can make 49 and be affective. If he can get to 49 and maintain his strength, then he may just be our guy there in March.

He will most likely be redshirted, but Tom will probably get him his maximum number of matches without losing his redshirt. Hopefully he hit many opens this year to shake the rust off.

Well my guess is he is really trying to make 149 . I’ve never seen a kid so animated before a season starts if he was not making the team or even red shirting.

Not disagreeing with anyone just guessing.

It’s clear opinions are across the board.

I could even see 165 but I can’t at all gage how good he is at the moment to compete for that spot . But when he mentions Arnold and marinelli as the two he rolled around with it just makes me think.

If Fraenk did not come, he would be our 157. He said he didn’t want to redshirt but would do what the coaches think is best. This was before the Fraenk transfer.
