I just quickly glanced at Mich St’s remaining schedule.

I think they’ll win the conference again & I think they’ll lose 5 conference games while doing it.

That shows how crazy tough this league is this year. 15-5 could win it outright.

11 teams already have 3+ B1G losses. 15-5 would be very good.

Can definitely see 15-5 winning the league.

I'll be interested to see how many of the teams finish with one of the 3 following records : 11-9, 10-10, 9-11. I could see as many as 9 teams finishing with one of those.

I hate to say it as I'm going to get roasted but even though the league is going to get a lot of teams in the tourney, how many are going to be high seeds? Before the conference season Ohio State and Michigan really propped up the league w/some big wins but right now those teams aren't very good at all, particularly Ohio State. We all make fun of the Big 12 for Kansas winning it every year but guess who's going to win the Big Ten again? Yes, Michigan State, who is just not that great. I can see 10 teams or maybe even 11 getting in, and all are deserving, but probably nobody higher than a 3 seed, Michigan State, and a lot of 6-9 teams that could maybe get 2-3 to the sweet 16. With a healthy roster the rest of the season and a decent seed in the tourney, I think besides Michigan State we could be the 2nd most dangerous team in the conference come tourney time.

The problem, at least part of it, is that Big Ten teams have to play 20 games against other Big Ten teams. If all 14 teams could have kept playing teams from the other P5 conferences, half of the top ten would probably be Big Ten teams right now.

I appreciate that Gonzaga, San Diego State, and other top ten teams are very good, but I have to wonder what their records would be and how highly they'd be ranked if THEY had to play 20 Big Ten games. That's one reason the NCAA tournament is so captivating, especially this year. After beating up on each other for a couple of months, Big Ten teams will, ultimately, get to play other teams again. And that's the opportunity to truly demonstrate that the Big Ten not only has parity but quality. And even then, as teams advance they'll likely find themselves paired with fellow Big Ten squads, so even the tourney can't show how good and how deep the Big Ten truly is. The brackets will, as usual, have a lot to do with the results.

But if the Big Ten teams are given a fair shot with seeding, I wouldn't be shocked to see three or four Big Ten teams in the Final Four.

People always use Gonzaga as an example. They’ve been to the championship game, numerous sweet 16’s and some elite 8’s. They are a legit team playing in a pretty weak conference which is always why they play such a tough non con schedule. They would easily be top 3 in the Bug Ten this year with a good chance of winning it. Look at the players they keep putting in the pros. They are talented.

No Elite teams in college basketball this year and that’s the case in the Big Ten. Just a lot of solid teams.

Let's chill out a bit on Michigan State. 1-1 on the road in conference, the win is Northwestern. The other half of this sample was shockingly bad. They could still win, but let's hold off 2-3 weeks thinking there's any chance they could do so with a runaway and get a 3 seed.
