The internet says there are 3.2 million school teachers in the US. That's 0.005%. That doesn't include school admin and support staff.
While 165 bad employees isn't good, saying "We have a massive pedo crisis in our schools." is pure fear-mongering. It's the public education equivalent of saying "all cops are bad".

when, in fact, it was some para that likely is on their 5th, 6th, 7th job in the past 2-3 years.

I have to think horny teachers are like mice. For everyone you see there are at least seven more. Lucky ass teenage boys nowadays.

This not meat to start a fight (which I know it will on here).....because I want school shootings to stop just as much as the next guy.....but when I read your comment (which I agree with), it also made me think of the school shootings (which yes I understand the result of death vs getting laid by a potential older woman hottie are not the same), but per the Google machine, there are 17.3 million high school students in the United States.
Also per the Google machine, it says 2024 had 330 school shootings (again....still a sickening number), but 330 into 17.3 million = 0.0019075%

I guess it's just all sad.....but to your post above the real problem is never really what gets all the attention nor is it the whole problem either......guns can be soooo very bad in the wrong hands, that's a fact, but I guess your comment above just made me think "what if those 0.0019075% of mentally disturbed students didn't go rogue?"
How much of this is a gun problem vs a mental health problem?

Not only that but it says "arrested or sentenced"
Problem is that these sort of things take time to go through the courts. So someone sentenced this year likely got arrested early last year or even in 2023. So it's a weird way of counting people twice.
