#17 Iowa @ #20 Northwestern ... early thoughts

cidsports

HB King
Iowa averages 20 points in the Big Ten basically, while Northwestern 14 on offense.

Defensively, Iowa gives 13, while Northwestern gives 19, so a close game on Saturday is what everyone expects?

Iowa ranks #7 in total offense, while Northwestern is #14, due to back to back games vs. Minnesota and @ Michigan.

#1 running back after 2 games in the Big Ten:

Iowa is better tested from a defensive standpoint on the ground and via pass, than Northwestern? Iowa has likely faced more play-makers through the first six games compared to Northwestern.

Heck, Iowa played better FCS programs, though the Wildcats are 2-1 vs. Top 25 programs. Stanford game, imho, is misleading. The Cardinal left a lot of opportunities in that game. Northwestern at Duke ... 19-10.

Playing a tough, tight game could be troubling on Northwestern's homecoming game.

The game will be one of the biggest games of the year at Northwestern. A 7-0, 3-0 B1G start heading into our bye week would be huge. Of course, Northwestern wants to get back in the hunt in the B1G West.
