A Chicago Tribune archival photo of a young man being arrested in 1963 at a South Side protest is Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, his campaign has confirmed, bolstering the candidate's narrative about his civil rights activism.

The black-and-white photo shows a 21-year-old Sanders, then a University of Chicago student, being taken by Chicago police toward a police wagon. An acetate negative of the photo was found in the Tribune's archives, said Marianne Mather, a Chicago Tribune photo editor.

Only in bizarro-land Democrat America does this burnish a presidential candidate's credentials.

Do you know the story behind the photo? They were protesting the Chicago school system and it's policy which systematically segregated schools by refusing to redraw lines when black schools were increasingly over-crowded. They were sticking black school children in portables and trailers while white neighborhood schools were unaffected. And just in case you were unaware, Chicago Police in the 1960s were just a tad overzealous towards protestors. Only in your twisted head is civil disobedience a crime worthy of scorn.

So, you're a fan of the Bundy gang, too?

The Bundy Bunch didn't harm anyone. The only one harmed was the protester who was gunned down during a "traffic stop."
That doesn't matter. The two are not the same because only one was an example of civil disobedience is support of equal rights. Which is why your comparison was lame.

There's nothing lame about it. You don't lose your protester badge just because you have a weapon.

Gee...back in 1963....that was just about "Camelot" time for the GOPers here......America was perfect then.

Funny how you reference "Camelot"... you really think the GOP was happy with who was in the White House in 1963?

Imodium A-D was invented in 1988. I believe Bernie's photo pose would have been different had it been invented in 1960.
