The last year we were a relevant b-ball program instead of the perennial joke we’ve been by and larger ever since.
Downward spiral for sure…definitely comical during the Lick years…pretty much flat lining during Alford and Mac years…with just a few highlights/moments here and there.😎The last year we were a relevant b-ball program instead of the perennial joke we’ve been by and larger ever since.
That’s a top 5 Iowa game of all time for me. Big Ten was so stacked and so were we. Athletes going up and down the court. That’s my most memorable Iowa team.
That team if not for the collapse against unlv could have very well won it all. That was an unbelievably loaded teamThat’s a top 5 Iowa game of all time for me. Big Ten was so stacked and so were we. Athletes going up and down the court. That’s my most memorable Iowa team.
So why did The Snake shoot a 2 pointer at the end of OT if they were down by 3? TIA
Dr. Tom had a few relevant teams with good season records and Sweet 16 games. The hawks had a lot of really good non-conf games back in those days playing Duke back to back iirc, beating N Carolina, losing a very close game to Arizona. The last year we were a relevant b-ball program instead of the perennial joke we’ve been by and larger ever since.
Too soon.The reverse of UNLV.
We generally could hang with about any team. I used to get so nervous watching those high end non conf games. The B1G was so tough too.Dr. Tom had a few relevant teams with good season records and Sweet 16 games. CSB alert: that was my freshman year at Iowa and going to watch games at Vito’s was wild. I went to one game and we lost (Purdue). Went to CA for spring break and watched the UNLV game in a bar in Oceanside, awful.
