Crean looking up at us......

I know it's early. Just having fun at his expense. But it kind of just goes to show this will will be a wild year. Damn it would be nice to see the boys pick one off at Nebraska. Big lift in their loafers if they do. Go Hawks!

While it's unanimous that everyone would rather be Nebraska now and not Indiana, things have a way of working themselves out.

In the end, Indiana will be above Nebbie, and hopefully Iowa, too.

Nebbie is riding high right now. But Iowa is not far behind. Win this one and we will be on a run that could go for quite awhile.

The key will be if we have learned more on the defensive end... I think we will. And continue to make improvements by leaps & bounds for another week or two. I certainly hope so, as it will mean we are on the way to a potential NCAA bid....

Go Hawks!

They all will be here on out. But for any real hope at the NCAA's we need this game.

Keep fingers crossed their three point shooting comes back to "their" earth as in being a liability.

I think IA match up better against NE than MN. MN has shot blockers and better guards, two of IA's achilles heel. I think IA can do it if the stars align, or if Jok, Cook, and Bohannon or Pemsl have good nights.

I think they may too but I'll know a bit more after tomorrow night when Big Blue plays PSU at home. Cause I am thinking or imo that Michigan is going to be a pretty good team this year in the B1G and our win on Sunday will be a very good win for us.

I was very impressed with their D. I know we scored 86 points in an OT win but man were their players up into us defensively. As Beilein said in his post game comments in another thread, Iowa just shot the ball extremely well or Crispin said this too in the broadcast that "lets get this straight that Peter was not open when he made that shot, he just made it". Beilein's comments are D focused and UM is 3rd in the conference in scoring D but it was curious to see they are LAST in 3 pt FG % defense which is where we had success shooting the 3 ball even though our shots were contested shots....nothing easy at all just very tough shots made.

Plus UM can light it up too, they have plenty of shooters and if the Wilson kid keeps playing like he did against Iowa, this will make this UM team very good.

I'd zone Nebraska up. Not only is their shooting suspect, but they like to play Jacobson in the middle of their zone offense. Against IU, he looked like he wanted no part of the ball when IU went zone.

This'll be a good challenge for our freshman. Nebraska wants to ugly the game up. IU and Maryland allowed that to happen and were sloppy on offense. Our freshman can't get frustrated by their play style.

Still not sure how good UM is but I will say I think Nebraska is a good matchup for Iowa. Size wise they're even smaller than Michigan. Watson and Webster have been hot lately. But Iowa also has Peter Jok.

Morrow vs Cook will be interesting, if nothing more than because Iowa wanted him (and Watson) very badly.

I do not see Iowa having an answer for Webster, Watson, and Morrow. Blocking out has been an issue all season and Morrow is tenacious on the boards. Webster and Watson strong off the bounce. Hope I am wrong, but I do not like the match up at those 3 spots.

Crean's antics on the court expose him to humor and criticism. It was all on display last night.

Nebbie's place is a tough place to win but if the Hawk's can utilize those now found defensive skills, they can prevail.

Nebby is quicker than we are. It'll be a scrum game.

That's what they'll want. Defend us and stop our transition.... try to force turnovers to get easy buckets of their own as they are limited offensivley.

Iowa is going to try to push tempo and get shots before nebraska can get defense set.

Transition points/points off turnovers and 2nd chance points will be keys.

Iowa has to close down lane and limit 2nd change points and take care of the ball. do those things and we win.

Watson and Webster are being called the best backcourt in the league to this point.....we will struggle with their quicks off the dribble plus Watson's pull-up shot. Watson has been the best guard in the league I have seen...against UCLA he was tough. Clutch city tough baller who is never afraid. Webster is among the best defenders Peter will face...Hawks and Jok must not force it early vs Webster...Pete has to play smart and dish it til Taj wears down a bit.

This is a big early test...if Hawks pull this off...huge upset considering the circumstances...Red fans will be on fire, full arena, Huskers full of confidence..Howdy Doody Miles will be out of his mind even more than normal....not good situation for young Hawks.

Good stuff jt.....I just have not paid a whole lot of attention to these husker pumpkin pushers early on enough to have an opinion like your info above. I guess I should've. I did go to their boards after the loss to Garner Webb and you can imagine the tone.....and it wasn't like a lot of Husker fans cared to comment but it was pitiful painful comments none the less. My how things have changed.....there is a lesson here....that's basketball
