2 stats that let Minny hang around

Another head scratching stat. 12 minutes for toussaint for being so short handed with players.

Would you have rather had Toussant or Evelyn running the point with the game on the line today? I often question Fran's personnel decisions in games but thought that decision seemed on point. Toussant just got too out of control and we needed the steady hand back there. Evelyn I thought had a good game today for what we asked out of him.

to answer your question YES both are needed and both were doing just fine,

Toussaint is a FR and in the BT FR's just get the calls. plus he had 1 steal and only one TO
Evelyn is a steadying presence on the floor,

both will be needed down the stretch. the most surprising is that they both made 3's.
combined stats out of the 1
10 points
4 rebounds
3 assists
2 steals
4 TO's 3 by Evelyn
2-3 from 3

give me those type of stats the rest of the season out of the 1 spot. just hoping they can keep hitting the 3 as this will open things up for Joe with CJ hopefully returning before the final BT game.

Joe need some of Connor's attitude and toughness to rub off on him. The thought of him leaving early for the NBA is comical.

I would agree to an extent. Wieskamp thrives (as do other players) when surrounded by other good players. Right now Iowa has zero other perimeter players that the opponent respects, to Wieskamp gets all the attention. It's very difficult to get open when teams cheat on all screens to Wieskamp, because they know Toussaint, Conor or Evelyn will not make them pay for ignoring them. In the NBA (if we were to ever make it), he would be able to stand out at the 3-point line and wait for someone to throw it to him and be open. He wouldn't be asked to be the primary perimeter player.

For all of Conor's "attitude" and toughness, he went 1-5 from the floor. He did have 7 assists, mainly because he knows how to get Garza the ball in the post. A good attribute, to be sure. If Iowa is to stay afloat without Frederick, both Conor and Wieskamp need to actually make some shots.

W/O CJ all the pressure of shooting fall to Weezy and to me he tries to force it,
Connor has improved his 3 point shooting year over year
FR 6-29 from 3 20.7%
SO 24-77 from 3 31.2% from 3.
that is good and like they say shooting 33% from 3 is = to 50% from 2.

Connors 2 strong suits are his assists as he is leading the team
FT shooting 78.9% from the FTL being clutch at the end of games. 45-57 from the FTL

JT is adjusting and his FT is getting better as he is avg'ing 81% from the FTL which is 2nd to JW @ 82.8%

Joe needs to let the ref see it then. Sell the foul if it's a foul.
Really?
There were times they were reaching acrois the pick to hold him and hit his face with no calls. Twice I saw him try to drive and not be able to elevate either due to fatigue or someone hanging on to him.
The only way he will get respect from the zebras at this point is get pissed off and fight back. They are respecting the agressor whether it is a foul or not so he has to take on that mental approach to get fair treatment.

I’m not surprised. I should had made my comment conditional. “If Joe isn’t already...”. I wasn’t trying to rip Joe. He was getting mugged.

The refs yesterday were atrocious. Was it Miles who said, ‘these refs must have a plane to catch’ or the play by play guy?
