Q: How did the Iowa camp go today?
WIRFS: "Today it went a lot better than I thought it was going to coming in. I learned a lot from Coach Ferentz. They have a lot of great guys down there. Coach Ferentz taught me a lot of stuff that I worked on down there."
Q: When did they end up offering?
WIRFS: "After the big meeting, they split us up by states and Coach Morgan pulled some kids aside and asked us to meet in the football complex. We went in there and got a tour. We got brought into Coach Ferent'z office one at a time and that is when he gave me the offer."
Q: What did it mean to you to land an Iowa offer?
WIRFS: "I didn’t really know what to think. It is pretty great and made me think about it because they are a Division I college that is pretty close. Seeing that dream become a reality was something I enjoyed."
Q: Did you grow up dreaming of playing at Iowa?
WIRFS: "I always liked Iowa but I never did think something like that would happen."
Q: What type of interest had Iowa shown you before the offer?
WIRFS: "I went down to a spring practice with my coach. That was about it."
Q: How do you feel about Iowa?
WIRFS: "I really liked it. Their program is incredible down there, especially with linemen."
Q: When do you want to make a final decision?
WIRFS: "I probably won't wait too long but it probably will not be very soon."
Q: With Iowa State offering as well, do you have a favorite between the two?
WIRFS: "I probably like Iowa better. With the staff down there, they have awesome people. The campus was great and it was just a great place."
Q: What other schools are you hearing from?
WIRFS: "My coach mentioned something about Indiana."
Q: Did your family grow up rooting for Iowa?
WIRFS: "Yeah."
