2018 4 star RB Markese Stepp ....former ND commit ...Visiting Iowa??

I understand but predators like R Kelly are lines in the sand that I will never cross. The rap/ hip hop genre brings out some of the worst in humanity.

Yikes. This is an incredibly ignorant statement and you should probably sit the next couple plays out. Keep this racist garbage out of the football forum, please.

Stepp moved his USC visit to this wknd. Crystal Balls rolling in for the Trojans. Hawks may not get a shot.

I would assume he is a kid that they are trying to keep warm pending other decisions.

You assume none of these guys can switch positions or play defense. Iowa needs speed and athleticism all over the field (and two-deep). Get the players and figure out how they can best help your team. A high school running back playing DB (LB,WR)? Yeah, that's just crazy talk.

Nope, I'm not assuming anything close to that. The post called for getting "skill position players" on the field, not the best players or best athletes, or anything else. If the coaches see them as a switched position, great, Iowa has tremendous success in doing so, but would completely negate the point of that original post, i.e. getting as many great "skill position" players as possible. This is also furthered by my point, if you they are evaluating them at other positions, we would likely know about it, and it wouldn't even effect the discussion of a potential logjam at hb.

While there may only be 5 players on the feild that would be considered "skill players" we are from from an abundance of skill players. RB seems to be building a stable but if he-who-must-not-be-named shows back up we are going to want as many as possible. IMO the program is lacking talent everywhere, I know I know something about small population yada yada yada....... We could and should have done better.

Agreed, I was just pointing out the fallacy in overcompensating on "skill positions" simply because we lack talent/depth. Over-correcting in anything is nearly always a problem.

why do u hot heads come on here and hijack these great threads with your politics. go away with it. if you don't have anything smart to add then take your ignorance to another page.

Kelvin "The Closer" Bell! He must really have a way of connecting with kids! He's been a great addition to this staff!

Hot commodity or not, they have other needs that are more pressing.

I would agree, generally. But if the coaches think he has a chance to be better than any RB on the roster now, they would take him. That's what the other poster was saying. Similar to how defensive end isn't the largest position of need, but Waggoner's talent dictated that they went after him. If you can improve the team, you do so.
