Yeah it is early as F, but I'm pumped after the TN comeback and the entire freaking team (for the most part) returns.
I think the season was a bridge to something better because the team as a whole seams to buy into that they need to put in more work to get to the next level. They know they can do it, they just need to do it more consistently, throughout every game. That is what good teams with role players like Purdue do. Iowa could be that good, they just need to do it. They have the depth and quality of players right now. It’s about matchups.
I wouldn’t get too excited or too down based on one game.
Ask yourself are you happy about the last X number of years. Also consider the current trend.
If you think some magic light went off because they came back again st Tennessee and it will keep rolling into next season then I have a bridge to sell you.
This has all the makings of a new “is Fran building a regional powerhouse” thread.

Taking into account Dr. Tom inherited one of the most talented rosters ever for a 1st year coach (with the core 3 being Sophomores in an era when 4 year stars were the norm) Fran really has been comparable to Dr. Tom on paper. Fran won 3 (twice as a 7 and as a 10) in the dance and lost the 2nd. Fran did lose the playin game in 2004, his first of 4 NCAA. Had Dr. Tom gotten a dumpster fire I don't know if he'd be the GOAT. And I love Dr . Tom. His 9 of 13 dances were helped early on with an Elite 8 and Sweet 16 with Raveling's guys. Nothing wrong with that. Fran had a much different path and has done pretty well too. Not a post against Dr. Tom. Love the man. Just a Fran is pretty good post SAVE THE late season meltdowns which does amplify things.Tom Davis and the G.O.A.T. (curse)
