2023 baseball team better or worse than 2022!

So how do you think the 2023 baseball team will compare to the 2022 team (which was a solid team). Why?

No disrespect to last year’s baseball team. That was a very solid squad. I just think we have a lot of really good hitters returning. I know we had a lot of pitchers go pro so on paper we are probably weaker at pitching. However, Langenberg is a solid Friday starter. Some great transfer pitchers to fill in some missing pieces. I believe we have arguably one of the best pitching coaches in Big 10 in Lund. Heller and his staff are exceptional at what they do. If they have a good offseason this team might be able to go far. They’ve looked very good this fall (I’m aware of the level of teams they’ve played).

Defense will be better
Offense should be better
Bullpen has to be better
Comes down to starting pitching

Probably about the same with five or six games deciding the Iowa postseason fate.

I feel much better about the starting pitching after some conversations this week.
