He also said the best coaching he got was at Michigan (during his combine presser)...guessing that part was left out of the Iowa article...
Well I hope so, he was in Ann Arbor for FOUR years and Iowa City for less than ONE. He was very complimentary of both programs. He also said the best coaching he got was at Michigan (during his combine presser)...guessing that part was left out of the Iowa article...
Yeah...for him to say anything that wasn't positive wouldn't have been in his best interest...that was kind of my point...so I guess we agreeWell I hope so, he was in Ann Arbor for FOUR years and Iowa City for less than ONE. He was very complimentary of both programs.
He did throw some shade at UM on the way out, but has since reversed course. Which is smart, Hell Harbaugh could be his new boss. I am sure most of that was emotion/frustration, but it all worked out for him except the injury. If he can stay healthy, He could be a nice weapon.Yeah...for him to say anything that wasn't positive wouldn't have been in his best interest...that was kind of my point...so I guess we agree
It was more his dad that threw the shade...He did throw some shade at UM on the way out, but has since reversed course. Which is smart, Hell Harbaugh could be his new boss. Makes sense. Sounds like a complex situation. He was starting to play really well after Lachey’s season ending injury. I think teams will be cautious given his injury history. Hell, George Kittle had an amazing combine (4.52 40, etc) and went in 5th round due to injuries at Iowa. I do think he makes an NFL team whether as late rounder or UDFA.It was more his dad that threw the shade...
Up until a week before he entered the portal he was locked in on coming back to Umich...was vocal about it. What happened is the Umich doctors didnt clear him to resume training. They didn't say they wouldn't but they weren't going to go on the word of a doctor they didn't know who did the surgery (and going to a non Umich MD has never been a problem...we have a long list of approved specialists across the globe for our athletes)
He went to a surgeon who did a procedure that the previous 4-5 non Umich specialists thought was risky. So the Umich doctors simply said "we need to check if it worked." Daddy and son went to Harbaugh and said just clear him...Harbaugh said I can't do that...until they clear him my hands are tied
Bam...he goes to Iowa...daddy goes off
He is certainly a talent, but as you said a pretty serious back, and knee surgery in the last two years will have most teams proceeding with caution. I'm sure it cost him probably three rounds at least in the draft.Makes sense. Sounds like a complex situation. He was starting to play really well after Lachey’s season ending injury. Yeah, worrisome injuries. He is certainly a talent, but as you said a pretty serious back, and knee surgery in the last two years will have most teams proceeding with caution. I'm sure it cost him probably three rounds at least in the draft.
