The No. 1 player in Minnesota for the 2026 class was in Iowa City this weekend for Junior Day. Four-star ATH Roman Voss told Rivals what stood out to him most about the visit.

"I would just say the love from all the coaches," Voss said. "It felt very welcoming and I enjoyed the visit."

Voss told me that his relationship is definitely getting stronger with the coaching staff each time they get a chance to speak. The coaches he hears from the most are Coach Ferentz, Coach LeVar and Coach Abdul Hodge. He didn't actually do the Q&A with the current players because coach Ferentz pulled him aside to talk one-on-one.

"His message to me was just to keep believing in myself and you will know when the time is right to decide," Voss said.

Voss is being recruiting by different schools for a variety of positions. Some see him at tight end, some at linebacker or even hybrid safety. The Hawkeyes see him as a tight end. With the history of the position at the school, Voss sees that as a huge compliment. Up next, he'll visit Minnesota on Jan. 31 weekend.
