2026 four-star QB Peyton Falzone Decommits from Virginia Tech; will be in Iowa City this Weekend

Future TE. :)

Kinda smells like NIL fishing but who knows. If he was NIL fishing he probably wouldn't be visiting us I guess.

Has a really deft touch and shape on his deep throws, and even his shorter throws have some touch on them and aren't 100 mph fast balls on 5 yard crossers. Threw on the move to his left accurately. Great straight line speed but his agility to evade the rush on one play early in the video showed really good foot agility also. A lot to like on that video.

Sounds like they had a large group of recruits in for the game. Not the best weather but if recruits are still interested in the Hawks then that's maybe a good sign

Hmm... Frigid weather and an impressive showing by the Iowa passing game of 8/15 for 115 yards with 3/4 of that coming on a single screen pass. Hard to see how that couldn't look super attractive to a 4 star QB that's ranked 15th nationally.

If you were him, would you have been impressed?
I'm not him, nor do I know his thoughts. Of course I could just join all the negative conversation here and question why any decent player would ever want to play for this team. Would that be more helpful? You think?

Maybe he'd like to be the legend that changes all that......
Maybe. He might also be thinking that there might be a common element at Iowa preventing any QB from reaching their potential. It's not like this is a new phenomenon anymore. This disastrous run at that position has now been going on for 5 years. I want to believe that Lester has the capability and the latitude to change that, but it still remains to be seen.

True enough, so maybe there's hope. My point is the same posters who complain here that Kirk does the "were just little old Iowa" deal, are the same ones who post why would any kid in their right mind ever commit to play here. Maybe they don't get the fact that everything they post is just as out there for recruits to see as anything that Kirk says. Maybe welcome the kid and hope he has great success as a Hawk, and enjoy his time with the support of a fan base that welcomes and appreciates all of those who become Hawkeyes.

With the new OC there is renewed hope. If recruits like him can view the past as being in the rear view mirror and evaluate the situation as different given the arrival of Lester then Iowa has a chance. If viewed through the lens of the last 5 years, then it will really be an uphill climb to attract any high quality QB's and receivers. Unfortunately this year saw an improvement in the offense but the passing game was still worst in the nation, sans service academies.. That didn't help Iowa's argument that things are changing.

The literal sign is great? Or it’s a great sign he wants to “head back out soon?” Either way I concur! 😂
