Just a seminal album in a year of great albums. In my top 5 albums of all time. Also as an aside, an awful live band. But this album has been with me for the past 30 years.
And what a year 1993 was in music.
Grunge in its mainstream element, with Vs., Siamese Dream, and In Utero. You had some great rap in Enter the Wu Tang, Doggystyle, and Black Sunday. And you had some great hip hop in Midnight Marauders and Digable Planets.
1994 gets lots of music love, but 1993 was great, and the debut album of Counting Crows was at the top.
