None of them their fault.

Last night some asshole was speeding and T-boned my daughter and her boyfriend. Hit them so hard that they were pushed into a yard and destroyed someone's nice porch.

Luckily no serious injuries for the two I care about. Driver that t-boned them got ambulanced. With his recklessness driving, I'm guessing he was not wearing his seat belt.

Slow down folks. If you can't plan ahead, show up late. Not worth driving like idiots.

We only carried liability, so unless the other driver was not insured, we and the homeowners will be getting a check. Sounded like he was driving a newer SUV.

I've got a used Impala that she can drive once it is repaired. Any mechanics on here want to make a few bucks? Needs a computer to read what parts need ordered. Traction Control sensor is my guess.

Pretty much any auto parts store will scan the codes.

Close friends adopted son has gone through 3-4 vehicles in the last year. Most recent one he claimed was not his fault. I can understand and look past one accident for being young and dumb but this is getting ridiculous. At some point they need to pull the license though I’m not sure that will stop him. Needs to spend a night in jail.
I have a 6 & 3 year old we have on the street teaching them to ride bikes safely but things happen. Makes it hard to want to take the risk. Lot of kids out and about in our town walking and on bikes. Even parents you see with their phones out while driving. I have a feeling it is going to take a kid getting hit before the town wakes up.

Yeah, I know. I can't get it out of the driveway because the tires are locking up. Was hoping not to tow it anywhere and find a moonlighting mechanic. But, alas, I might to have it towed now

That car is the perfect car for your kids, if they can't get out of the driveway then they can't get in another accident.

Prayers to your family buddy.

So was he found at fault? I can't imagine DOT will let him keep his license with those if he was at fault.

Much appreciated. Counting blessings. Hopefully a quiet weekend outside of Iowa game. Daughter is a trooper (she is the one the wrestles - tho you would never guess". She headed to Ames High aims high in a Hawkeye sweatshirt this morning. Bad ass IMHO.
Haha. Nice!

My first car was hit 3 times. I was at fault for one. My kids will all get pieces of sh*t for their first cars.

That sounds mechanical and not a sensor. The TCS wouldn't lock up the powertrain. Best of luck.

Damn, Jimmy, glad they're ok. My kids aren't anywhere near driving age yet, but I had plenty of input with my nieces and nephews when they started. I always told them to look out for the other guy, coming up on intersections, etc. I have avoided being t-boned twice because I saw the other guy first.

I hope they can just chill this weekend. Their bodies are going to be pretty sore! Good luck!

Why do you think they're locked up?

Glad the kids are okay. Curious, what type of car did your kids have that they survived a serious t-bone accident?

I was riding bike this morning on blacktop road. 3 cars approaching me tightly bunch led at highway speed. First car has both hands on his phone taking a picture of me on bike ( no idea why). Last car is young girl with both hands texting and head down.

If the one of the first cars hit brakes that girl wouldn’t know it until she woke up in hospital.

People are too busy to do anything anymore and that includes paying attention.

They need unmarked cars with cameras that do nothing but ticket people looking at their phones.

They were in a Honda Pilot (used). Old used cars are the way to go for teenagers. Nothing to worry about investment wise, and daughter didn't want to drive anything nice around. She is practical.

I should have a picture on here soon.

Most auto parts stores sell code readers as well. If you're remotely handy everyone should have one, and it doesn't need to be a high end version.

Haven’t heard on the latest one. He got T boned at a 4 way stop. This is the first to involve another driver. The others were of the reckless driving. One went in the ditch and one hit a curb hard enough to tear out the front end. I’m not sure if the first one he had a citation but the school resource officer had a talk with him. Didn’t work. Kid has been through a lot but at some point you need to start taking some responsibility.

I'm automotive disabled. Meaning, I learned nothing from my old man when I was a kid when I could have. Now, everything is so computerized I'm not sure it would help me today if I had learned.

Your daughter into butt sex?

Glad your daughter and her boyfriend are safe. That's gotta be scary as a parent. Sorry you guys are going through that.

Doubtful.

You don't think it would f up tires, breaks, and transmission if the traction control keeps making it hard to drive? No thanks. I don't want to turn a $500 problem into a $4500 problem. TSC and anti-lock break sensors are definately done for. I'm just not sure if those are things that can be fixed here in my driveway without having to spend another $100 + for a tow job. (no HBOT, I didn't say toe job)
