Iowa has played some brutally bad halves of offensive football this year, but yesterday's first half of 58 yards with 2 first downs was as bad as any this year or last. This idea that you can consistently put together 2 halves of football without threat of a passing game needs to die once and for all.

I understand some of the dumb asses on here thinking it's possible, but paying people millions of dollars to think this way is really beyond the pale. Iowa is not a service academy. Running Cade out there for virtually every snap including the 2 point conversion try that is Sullivan's only job at this point is simply beyond mystifying. He can't run and he can't throw it into a lake on the run. WTF is Kirk thinking anymore and who's call was that? Are they afraid of hurting Cade's feelings? Serious question.

Yeah, as noted many times on this board, the mere possibility of a QB keeper keeps the opposing D off-balance and makes Sullivan a much better option.

I think KF is falling victim to the sunk cost fallacy and feeling like he has to play Cade due to the NIL $ the UI has allocated to him. Sadly, we’ve all seen this movie too many times, and it‘s likely that a season-ending injury is the only thing that will get Sullivan on the field.

At the very least, Sullivan should be getting a series per half. Bare minimum. But not on KF’s watch.

This ain't the NFL and Cade is gone at the end of the year. Sullivan has been a competent QB in this league with no more talent around him than Iowa has today. Cade has not.

The TD run from Sullivan had no defender within 10 yds of him. You could literally run that play over and over again from anywhere on the field. Would open up more runs for KJ and open up the passing game. Also takes pressure off of our horrid OL.

The TV people quoted Phil Parker as saying he was "scared to death" of MSU's mobile QB. So why the hell doesn't your head coach play the Big Ten-experienced mobile QB YOU have?
