5k to see IU vs ND

Side question:

Does anyone know how host schools are handling tickets for the first (should be second as well) round? My assumption is the let the season ticket people get first dibs, a road team allotment, then open to everyone.

Second hand ticket market is bullshit, it has been for a while now, then you add on the fees and it's even more laughable. What is face value for those seats?
Should be some legislation on places like Stubhub. Charging 30% in fees is criminal. Should cost no more in fees for a Super Bowl ticket than it does for a crappy low level college basketball game nobody cares about.

Agreed, the scalping shit has got to stop as well. It would get rid of all these ****ing brokers buying ticket (I.E. the Debbie game).

Yeah, it’s been going on for awhile now…30% is kind of low based on my experience…😢

If you want a wide open market unfettered by regulation, this is the result.

While I personally don't care in this instance, admittedly I'd likely feel different if Iowa actually made the playoffs as that's only scenario I'm even somewhat interested in attending a game in person again.

Don't get me wrong, if I had the money to buy $100 ticket to go to an Iowa game against any team and spend a weekend in Iowa City like the good ole days, I absolutely would.

But even I have my limits where the cost outweighs the demand/want/need.

We just paid $2,700 for 4 ticks to see the Eagles at the Sphere. All of these prices are cheap compared to what people were paying for T Swift tickets over the past year and a half.
Saw Eagles in DM twice with Glenn Frey for a fraction of that. You couldn’t give me tickets to see them w/o GF.

Regarding ticket prices to see IU vs ND, it’s all about supply and demand on the open market for a game that hasn’t been played in a very long time.

Huge demand is ruining college football?

I think you have it backwards. CFB is THRIVING.

This is 1st year of the playoffs and Bitcoin and stock market are at all time highs and NIL effects have not fully shaken out. Indiana is long-suffering program with Cinderella story and Notre Dame has a pretty good following.

IF NIL trends continue, I don't think you will see a lot of fan eyeballs watching college football from fans of teams that are NIL losers when the realize the system rigged against them. I live in Oregon and I don't bother to watch the Ducks that have $24 million payroll thanks to Phil Knight. They're exciting team--best NIL money can buy.

college FB is ruined. who can afford this? who is buying tix at face value? such a sad state of CFB
I mean, let’s not look at reality here and understand this is a truly once in a lifetime deal for Indiana fans. 11-1, made the playoffs, and they get a game with one of the biggest football brands in the world who just so happens to have cast an extremely large shadow over Indiana over the years.

I once flew across the country and paid $250 per seat to watch Ohio state prison rape Iowa in the game of the week in 2006. I’d pay $1,000 to watch Iowa play Notre Dame @ south bend in playoffs because it is probably the only way it will ever happen.

I always get free tickets from Western Iowa Nebraska fans when Iowa plays them in Lincoln.

The ND/Indiana ticket is much higher than any other game. This will be a wine/cheese/corporate crowd and sellers will get what they're asking
Game in Indiana. Both schools from Indiana. Pretty reasonable assumption it'd have the highest ticket prices. Folks can go to the game without having to pay for a hotel room or a flight.

On a side note: Pretty incredible that Indiana is in the playoff. Sure didn't call that pre-season. Being a "underdog" fan I'll be rooting for them which pretty much ensures they'll get wrecked :(
