I think they were basically a hard rock band and Brandy was a one-off; so it also pissed them off that the one song that wasn't really their thing was the one everybody liked.
It has huge play time at the time - but the radio version was less than half as long as the version he would do live. I had the London Sessions album and I just looked it up; it was over eleven minutes long.

Anyone else tired of American Pie? When I was younger in the 1990s I thought it was good but over time it does nothing for me. I know Don is reflecting on losing his heros.

We had a cool art teacher in jr high and she let us bring in and play records during class. One day, someone brought in and played that one. That was our last day of playing records in class.
Yeah. I easily recognize 60 of those songs and my bet is if I heard the ones I don't, they'll come back to me pretty quick. I have 17 of them from albums/downloads in my collection, too.
