9 game conf schedule means nothing!!!

Why play championship games? The committee has made a statement that they don’t mattter.

You are better off losing last week of the season than playing in your conf championship. Sorry but that’s f*cking pathetic.

Championship game doesn't matter IF the champion has 2 losses AND there are 1 loss non champions

2016: OSU in, PSU out
2017: Bama in, OSU out

If OSU played Mercer at home instead of a 9th conf game on the road, they’d be 12-1 and probably the overall #1 seed. 9 game conf schedule is a joke unless all leagues do it.

well I agree with cupcakes on the schedule but the teams have to practice on somebody

Sec always has to have an advantage. Over signing or only playing 8 conference games. Can we have a level playing field please.

Isn't Wisconsin resume the same as Alabama both lost to a top 5 team. 2-3 good wins, blew people out. Only difference Wisconsin has one more win and Alabama got lucky because they lost a week earlier

Uh....creating the 9 game conference schedule had absolutely nothing to do with the CFP. I'm guessing, having one more week of conference games vs. the usual week 4 games of MAC teams probably brings more money in TV contracts and fees than making the playoffs do. Everything with the Big 10 is about making money. Winning championships is secondary.

Disagree on the impact on cfp. What if Alabama had played Georgia in that 9th conference game? If the sec had a ninth game. One of those two is not in the cfp.

That's not what I was saying. I'm saying the impact on the CFP was not a consideration when going to 9 games. Money was.

Hard for me to be outraged about this. I think Alabama is better than OSU.

But you get it, some of these other people don't. Sure, conference championship helps but at the end of the day they're picking who they see as the 4 best teams. I don't see a team that lost 2 games by 15+ points, including by 31 to a 7-5 team as the 4th best team in the country.

You're implying that Ohio State still wouldn't play Iowa. They could've played 8 conference games and still ended up with '@ Iowa' on the schedule. Sure, you have a greater chance of playing a tougher team with an extra conf game, but I don't see how Bama would lose to a team the same exact caliber as us, let alone by 31 points.
