I don’t see any record of the current governor spending time in prison. You might be thinking of a former governor who happened to have the same last name but was not related to him. He spent 8 years in prison on a racketeering conviction related to demanding bribes for riverboat gambling licenses.

Having spent time around Ft Knox when I was at Ft Knox, the only thing surprising about them being on the list is that they aren't #1.

Of course, I was there in the 1980s, which was like the 1870s were everywhere else.

I would recommend not taking anything you see on Facebook as fact. Check me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think most of the states on that list allow first cousins to marry. The places where it is legal would surprise you. States like New York, Maine, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, California, Virginia, Vermont, Rhode Island, Colorado, and Maryland all allow it. From your list, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Arkansas, and West Virginia do not.
Of course an argument can be made that it is illegal in those states because they needed someone to tell them not to do it.

'Bout to say I'm very glad I don't live in any of those states, so its not even a remote possibility that any of my first cousins would consider me marriage material - because I sure wouldn't about them!

My real question is how is Florida not on that list? I mean, some of the stories I've seen come out of that state makes one wonder ....
