A game in Hawkeye history that best resembles the beat down of OSU

I'm going with the 55-17 win over Texas in 1984 which was a springboard to Iowa being rated #1 in 1985. If it weren't for that late TD by tOSU, the score would have been exactly the same. I do think this tOSU team is better though than all of the teams mentioned.

OSU was like 7-4 that year.

The only comparison (at least in my lifetime) is the Illinois win in 1990. I remember my dad used to turn the TV volume off and had Zabel on radio for about every game. Nothing like listening to Zabel call a game. A five-yard run sounded like a pick-6 with Zee calling the game. Zabel went absolutely crazy that Illinois game. If memory serves me correct, that game hooked me on Iowa football.

Osu may have 4 losses this year too for all we know lol

I loved that game. But one of the issues with that season for OSU was that Zwick didn't have "IT" .... and it was just at the start of Troy Smith's career. In fact, Iowa's beat down of OSU in '04 led Tressel to hand the QB reigns over to Smith.

In contrast, the Hawks faced an OSU squad that featured a star SR starter ... and we made him look mediocre! A thing of beauty for Hawk fans!
