AJ has said that winning was very important to him and his college choice.

Make no mistake; this year's 12-0 start was huge in more ways than one!

GO HAWKS!!!!

THat is really, really HOT, AWESOME NEWS on a cold, Iowa day!

Welcome to the HAWKEYE family,, AJ and family !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rivals must be pretty cautious giving 5 stars. Number 1 at his position and still a 4 star. Doesn't really matter. With his offer list it feels like we are getting a 5 star.
Could be a bad DE class or something. 27th overall rated player. Huge get none the less.

Welcome to the Hawkeye Family AJ, oh almost forgot, you already live in a Hawkeye family so let me rephrase, welcome to your extended Hawkeye family!

Having AJ and Kirkpatrick on the edge will be impressive in the future. Harris on the interior and Coon as an outside backer is a good start for he defense.

Awesome!! That makes 12 defensive lineman commits from the 2015, 2016, and 2017 classes. I would assume we are full at defensive line now!

Not kidding you but some how he is now a 4 star?!?!?!?! Conspiracy for Iowa commits of minus one star?

Pretty sure rivals has always had him as a 4 star. Other sites have him as a 5 star. 247 has him as the number 2 overall player in the country.

Yeah, he's always been a 4-star on Rivals. I know Midwest analyst Josh Helmholdt has been out to watch him play in person and likes him a lot, but so far they've only given out 18 5-stars in his class. Usually they end up around 30, so if he stays ranked around #27, he'll end up getting the 5th star. But regardless, it's hard to even state how big of a commit this is.

This isn't a sentence you read the likes of on HawkeyeReport.com very often.

He chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Nebraska, USC, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon State, Purdue, Tennessee, UCLA, Utah, Washington State, and Vanderbilt, among others.

Now that he's committed to Iowa he should definitely get the fifth star....P5 school with T10 street cred and all.
